What initially began as the central theme for a motion picture over 35 years ago has now earned a prominent spot on Australia’s annual roster of esteemed sporting events. Scheduled for October 14-15 on Queensland’s Gold Coast, the Shaw and Partners Financial Services Coolangatta Gold boasts four distinct events over the weekend: the Short Course and Youth Challenge on Saturday, October 14, along with the Downwind Paddle and Long Course on Sunday, October 15. Comprising a 21km Short Course and a challenging 41.8km Long Course race, the Shaw and Partners Financial Services Coolangatta Gold encompasses a multi-disciplinary route encompassing swimming, running, board paddling, and surf skiing.
