The Shaw and Partners Financial Services Coolangatta Gold stands as one of the most formidable endurance races in the realm of surf sports. What initially began as the central theme for a motion picture over 35 years ago has now earned a prominent spot on Australia’s annual roster of esteemed sporting events. Scheduled for October 14-15 on Queensland’s Gold Coast, the Shaw and Partners Financial Services Coolangatta Gold boasts four distinct events over the weekend: the Short Course and Youth Challenge on Saturday, October 14, along with the Downwind Paddle and Long Course on Sunday, October 15. Comprising a 21km Short Course and a challenging 41.8km Long Course race, the Shaw and Partners Financial Services Coolangatta Gold encompasses a multi-disciplinary route encompassing swimming, running, board paddling, and surf skiing.
